JSY is a 100% centrally sponsored scheme under the National Health Mission (NHM). The primary goal is to reduce maternal and infant mortality by promoting institutional deliveries among pregnant women from poor families.

Financial Assistance (via Direct Benefit Transfer - DBT): Cash incentives are provided upon delivery in a government or accredited private hospital: 1. Rural Areas: ₹ 700/- 2. Urban Areas: ₹ 600/- 3. Home Delivery (BPL only): ₹ 500/- (To assist in post-delivery care).
