Tap Connection in Every Home: To provide water supply to every household in rural areas through individual tap connections.
• Focus on Quality: To ensure a minimum of 55 liters per capita (per person) of quality water supply.
• Community Approach: To involve Gram Panchayats and local communities actively in water management.
• Schools and Health Centers: To provide functional tap connections to all schools, Anganwadis, health centers, and other public buildings.

The main objective of the scheme is to provide safe and adequate drinking water to every household in rural India through Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC); therefore, all rural families are beneficiaries."
