Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY)

It is the world’s largest fully government-funded health assurance scheme. It aims to provide financial protection to the poor and vulnerable against catastrophic health expenditures for secondary and tertiary care.

Beneficiary:

In Maharashtra, it covers holders of Yellow and Orange ration cards. •Recently expanded to cover all senior citizens aged 70 and above, regardless of income.

Benefits:

1.Insurance Cover: Provides a cover of ₹ 5,00,000/- per family per year. 2.Medical Coverage: Includes over 1,900 medical and surgical procedures. 3.Cashless & Paperless: Covers all expenses from pre-hospitalization to post-hospitalization (drugs, diagnostics, and surgery) at the point of service. 4.Portability: A beneficiary can avail of treatment in any empaneled hospital (Government or Private) across India.
